Al Orgain Elected Chairman of the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (June 11, 2002)... On May 11, 2002, the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society elected its new officers at their annual meeting held at the Virginia Aviation Museum. Among those elected was Albert M. Orgain, IV as the Chairman succeeding Retired Admiral Dewitt L. Freeman, USN.

Al Orgain, remarked that he "is honored to have been elected and belauds Admiral Freeman for his steady and effective leadership of the past four years." As the newly elected Chairman, Orgain has set forth two goals for the members of the VAHS. First is to increase membership. Second is to increase funds available for accomplishing the society's mission.

The Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society serves to preserve, educate, support and promote aeronautical heritage, aviation and aerospace throughout Virginia. Established in 1977, VAHS is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia and includes the following local chapters: Northern Neck/Middle Peninsula Chapter, Northern Virginia Chapter, Shenandoah Valley Chapter, Williamsburg Chapter.
