RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (February 2, 2001)... The shareholders of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller have recently elected Douglas P. Rucker, Jr. to its three member Board of Directors, the firm's governing body. The Board of Directors re-elected Board Members C. Thomas Ebel as President of the firm and Benjamin W. Emerson as its Secretary, both for one year terms.
Rucker, a former president of the Virginia Bar Association, is a member and immediate past chairman of the firm's Business and Professional Litigation practice team. His practice focuses on defending malpractice claims against professionals, condemnation cases, business litigation and representing financial institutions.
Ebel chairs Sands Anderson's Business, Finance & Real Estate practice group. He represents corporations and other businesses in mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructuring and a variety of other corporate and business matters, and also represents clients in commercial real estate and creditors' rights matters.
Emerson is a member of the firm's Local Government practice group where he represents localities in the areas of procurement, finance, economic development and zoning. He also represents clients in commercial real estate transactions.
