RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (September 3, 2003). The law firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, is pleased to announce that Celie B. Richardson has joined the firm as an Associate in the Research Triangle office. In addition, Adam R. Kinsman joins the firm as an Associate in the Richmond office.
Paul C. Jacobson, managing partner of the Research Triangle office, stated, "It's very exciting to be expanding our presence in the Research Triangle area. Celie brings experience that allows us to enhance and pursue opportunities to better serve our clients." Sands Anderson opened its Durham office in 2001. C. Thomas Ebel, president of the firm, added, "We are equally pleased to have Adam join our team in Richmond."
Richardson is a member of the Business & Professional Litigation, Local Government and Risk Management practice groups and will focus her practice in the areas of business litigation and local government. Most recently, Richardson was a sole practitioner in Winston-Salem, N.C. She also possesses a number of years of experience in journalism including managing editor positions with the Sampson Independent in Clinton, N.C., and the Concord Tribune in Concord, N.C. Before entering law school, she was a columnist and writer with the Charlotte Observer for eight years and a college English instructor. Richardson received her undergraduate degree with highest honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and she is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her J.D. with honors, also from UNC. She was a member of the Board of Editors of the North Carolina Law Review.
Kinsman recently graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law in May 2003. While at the University of Richmond, Kinsman was a law student advisor and received the Judge Robert R. Merhige, Jr. Fellowship Award in the spring of 2002. Kinsman holds a B.A. degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the Local Government practice group and will concentrate his practice on zoning and land use.
