RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (July 18, 2002)... Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, P.C., one of Virginia's largest law firms, congratulates Brian R. Pitney for his election as President of the Board of Trustees for St. John's Church Endowment Fund, Inc. The Board oversees the administration, investments, and expenditures of the fund. The fund's purpose is to support the activities and grounds of St. John's Episcopal Church in Church Hill.
St. John's Church was erected in 1741 and is the oldest church in Richmond. It is where the Second Virginia Convention was held in 1775 where Patrick Henry challenged his comrades with "Give me Liberty or give me Death." Pitney received his J.D., from the University of Richmond- T.C. Williams School of Law in 1992 and his B.S. from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill in 1988.
