Pitney Selected as Chair of Business, Finance & Real Estate Practice Group

RICHMOND, VIRGINIA (October 11, 2004) . Brian R. Pitney has been s elected as chair of the Business, Finance and Real Estate practice group for Sands Anderson Marks & Miller , one of Virginia 's oldest and largest law firms, firm President C. Thomas Ebel announced today . He succeeds Ebel who chaired the group since its formation almost 10 years ago.

Pitney counsels clients in the areas of business formation, commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, securities arbitration, creditors' rights, and administrative law. He received his J.D. from the University of Richmond Law School in 1992 and his B.S., from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 1988. Pitney is a partner and has been a member of the Business, Finance and Real Estate practice group since joining the firm in 2002.
