The Grayson County Board of Supervisors has appointed James E. Cornwell, Jr.and the firm of Sands Anderson Marks & Miller, P.C. as County Attorney of Grayson County in a vote taken recently, Cornwell reported."I am pleased that another Virginia locality has entrusted its legal matters to our firm," said Cornwell.
The work representing the Grayson Board of Supervisors and the County will be handled from the law firm's Blacksburg office. Cornwell now represents Carroll, Craig, Floyd, Grayson and Lancaster counties, the City of Galax and the town of Narrows as general counsel. Assisting Cornwell in the provision of legal services to these localities as well as the representation of several localities in the collection of delinquent taxes, numerous departments of social services, and local and regional entities, including wireless service authorities, and industrial and economic development authorities, are the Blacksburg local government team of Michael R. Bedsaul, N. Reid Broughton and Steven V. Durbin,.
