John Smith is a member of the Business group and our Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights teams. His practice focuses on bankruptcy, federal receiverships, and business and tax law. He is based in our Richmond office.

John has been selected by his peers as to be listed as one of Virginia's Legal Elite for his Bankruptcy practice. He served as law clerk to the Honorable Douglas O. Tice, Jr., Chief Judge Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Virginia, Richmond Division. John earned his law degree magna cum laude from Boston College Law School where he served as an Articles Editor on the B.C. Environmental Affairs Law Journal. He graduated summa cum laude from the State University of New York at Fredonia with a degree in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and prior to practicing law practiced for several years in public accounting. |
