Jack Catlett has over 25 years of legal experience in personal and business planning and litigation.

As a member of the firm's Business group, Jack works with individuals and businesses across Virginia to help them protect and preserve their estates.  He advises clients of the gift, estate and income tax consequences of their dispositive arrangements and the methods available to efficiently transfer assets to beneficiaries and reduce potential estate or gift taxes including:

  • Estate Planning with Life Insurance
  • Split Interest Trusts
  • Techniques for leveraging the Unified Credit Equivalency
  • Limited Partnerships and other Family Business Entities

Jack also handles the probate of wills, chancery litigation, and estate administration.

Jack is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Richmond and is a past chairman of the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce's Richmond Business Council. He is incoming chairman of the Board of Trustees for St. Joseph's Villa in Henrico, Virginia. Jack has been listed among the Virginia Business Legal Elite for the Estates practice.
